Cake club welcomes new members

Sitting around a table and chatting over a morning cuppa and a piece of cake is one of life’s enjoyable little moments.

Rockhampton Regional Libraries’ Cake Clubs aim to promote the gentle art of conversation in a relaxed setting exploring the vast range of cook books and recipe books available to borrow.

An added bonus is tucking into a slice of cake and discussing food, ingredients, cooking methods and simple tips in the kitchen and meeting new people.

The Gracemere Cake Club has been meeting for a number of months, with a brief hiatus over COVID. Cake Clubbers meet up once a month on a Tuesday, with the next Cake Club gathering on Tuesday 22 March from 10.30am – 11.30am in the old Council Chambers room.

The Southside Library Cake Club has only just started this year and will squeeze in two Thursday sessions this month, on 3 March with a lemon shortcake theme and 31 March, from 4pm – 5pm.

Newcomers are welcome to come, just bring your own special teacup or mug to the session. Bookings via our Libraries Administration office on 4936 8043.
