Choir prepares for next year

The Buderim Male Choir wound up their year with their annual visit to Buderim Private Hospital on Monday on 8 December.

They visited all the wards and sang a bracket of traditional and Australian carols in each.

Choir President Barry Leigh said the event was something the group always enjoyed.

“This is one of the highlights on our calendar each year,” he said.

“We really enjoy bringing the Christmas spirit to the patients as well as the hospital staff and it’s clearly appreciated.”

The Choir has now gone into recess until 2 February, when they will swing into rehearsals for a fresh repertoire of songs for their various performances in 2026.

Mr Leigh said that the choir is always keen to welcome new members and believing you can’t sing is not a barrier.

Choir conductor Stuart Hill said all anyone needed was an enjoyment of singing.

“You’re never unhappy while you’re singing,” said.

The choir rehearses at the Buderim Men’s Shed, 38 Advance Road, Kuluin each Monday at 1.30 pm.
