Stay close to the carols

Rydges South Bank have announced their Christmas-themed “staycay” in support of the hotel’s partnership with the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols, the world-class evening of festive celebrations and entertainment to be staged at Brisbane’s Riverstage and beamed into Victoria Park on Saturday 2 December.

Hosted by Queensland’s first lady of song, Naomi Price, this dazzling evening of high kicks, high notes and hijinks features a stunning lineup of stars from stage and screen including Dami Im, Johnny Manuel, Caroline O’Connor, Swing on This, Loren Hunter, Rebecca Cassidy, Jack Chambers, Irena Lysiuk, Alisha Todd and Brooke Schubert.

Audience favourites The Jingle Belles return in 2023 under the direction of superstar chorographer Kate Wormald and of course – it wouldn’t be Christmas without a VIP visit from Santa himself!

Rydges South Bank is celebrating the first year of official hotel status with the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols with a dedicated staycay package – the Holly Jolly Holistay – as well as being the preferred hotel for Santa (note he may have already visited incognito to check out the changing Brisbane skyline – necessary for his work on December 25!).

Rydges South Bank General Manager Scott Wright said partnering with the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols event was a perfect present for everyone involved!

“Christmas is a very special time in Brisbane, and everyone at Rydges South Bank gets involved. Being the official hotel for the event, and Santa, is so exciting, and we are thrilled to announce our Holly Jolly Holistay package that runs through December. Our guests will also have the chance to visit Santa’s Workshop and enjoy carol performances popping up in our hotel lobby, and may even see the man in red himself joining us for our famed Christmas Day Lunch,” he said. “We look forward to welcoming visitors to Brisbane for the carols, for them to see the city lights and Christmas displays, to do their Christmas shopping and for locals to come and stay and have a local getaway with added tinsel and joy!”

Are you visiting Brisbane for the famous Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols, to see the City Hall Lights, do your shopping, see friends and family, catch classic holiday films at the South Bank Christmas Cinema Or staying for your own hometown festive getaway? This package is the Christmas Bon Bon!

Includes: two or more night’s accommodation (as booked), hosted buffet breakfast per person daily, $25 F&B Credit per night per room, Valet Car Parking for one car. Stay dates: 1 December 2023 – 29Feb 2024, from $279 per night.

This year’s Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols will be more accessible than ever with Auslan interpretation, audio description, tactile tour, accessible viewing platform, dedicated Auslan area and the first ever low sensory zone at the Riverstage.
